Advanced Diploma in Hospitality (Café management)
The Advanced Diploma in Hospitality (Café management) is designed for students who wish to study the advanced
level of Hospitality focussing on Café management. This course will teach students the skill required by
Assistant Manager as well as Entrepreneurs who wish to set up their own café in the near future. Students can
also choose to pursue a career in Cafes or Hospitality Sector. Students will be able to put their studies into
experience during their six-month internship on completion of this 9-month program.

Business Environment
This module will develop the students understanding of the everchanging global business environment and how
internal and external factors affect the business environment. They will also be able to keep up to date of the
latest trends in modern business environment and learn about the challenges that business have to face in the
hospitality sector.
People in Organizations
This module will make students understand the structure of the organization and how different people behave
differently in organizations. This will include Team work, Team building, Organizational behaviour, staff
motivation etc. Student will be able to identify appropriate workplace strategies for hospitality organizations.
Financial and Management Accounting Techniques for Managers
This module will teach students about the various aspects of accounting and finance in the various businesses in
the hospitality industry.
Communication Skills for Business
This module aims at teaching the student various communication channels and will help them to learn about the
various communication practices in organizations. Moreover students will acquire better communication skills
needed for the hospitality sector.
Marketing Mix
This Modules will teach the students about marketing and its importance in the hospitality industry, Students
will also learn about the Different marketing mixes, the Seven P’s and how they play an important role in
hospitality industry. On completion of the course, the students will then be able to lay out marketing plans for
café businesses.
Entrepreneurship
This module will provide the students with an understanding of entrepreneurship in business, the skills and
qualities needed by a successful entrepreneur and the roles an entrepreneur plays in starting and developing
businesses. On completion of this module, the students will have a fair idea on setting up a café business.
Customer Relationship Management
This module will enhance students’ knowledge and understanding of the scope and importance of Customer
Relationship Management (CRM). Students will understand the importance of Customer relationship management and
also understand how to deliver the same in the café business.
Corporate Social Responsibility
This module develops students understanding of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) issues and impacts of CSR
policy and how it affects modern society Students on completion of this module will be able to use their
knowledge and understanding to give suggestions to companies for responsible business practice.
Pastry and Baking Techniques
This module will teach students the basics of Bread, cake and pastry making.
Food and beverage Operations:
This module will teach students, about the practical knowledge required in the food service industry. Topics
will encompass food and beverage service, table setting, Handling of Alcoholic and Non Alcoholic beverages.
Internship
6 months Internship is a compulsory and integral part of the course. In Singapore internship is done under
training work permit issued by Ministry of Manpower. Trainee are also paid an fixed salary per month. Should a
learner be unable to complete the Industrial Attachment due to circumstances beyond the control of the college,
the learner will be required to complete a Project Work instead.
15 months comprising of 9 months class based study & 6 months internship
Students will be assessed by a variety of assignments.
Students who have successfully completed the course by passing every module will be awarded the Advanced Diploma in Café Management by Baking industry Training College.
